Indianapolis, Indiana

Mon Aug 4, 2008, 3:57 AM
I had a bit to drink last night with my man. I woke up at 4:25am (because I have to be at work at 5am every weekday) and lo-and-behold I had a hang over. The drive to work was not pleasant. As soon as I arrived at the office I took two tylenol and hopped online to see if I could find any quick remedies. I found some helpful stuff (I was advised to drink lots of water and to put some food in my stomach)
and I'm not surprised that I already feel better (the hangover wasn't too bad anyway) I still feel a little woozy, but the story I just read about made me feel a lot better.

I was listening to the Bobby Bones show and they mentioned a story about a person who had to undergo brain surgery . As if brain surgery wasn't difficult enough to undergo, the poor guy had to be awake while they did it. Not only that, ..but he also had to read out loud for medical reason that I am unable to explain. Anyway, the Bobby Bones show was pretty vague so I decided to look into the story.

I found this article: [link] (which I highly recommend reading)

The entire reason that I am posting this on a blog is because I noticed that the person (who is a young man at the tender age of 19) is an Indianapolis native and the first thing that popped into my head was that my favorite author, Kurt Vonnegut, was raised there. I instantly liked this young man simply because he's from Indianapolis (which made him cool just by association.) I had no way of knowing whether or not he even knew who Kurt Vonnegut was. I continued reading and I came to find out that the book that he chose to read during his brain surgery was by none other than Kurt Vonnegut.

It just made my day. Thought I'd share it. I know most of you won't care but at least you got to hear about "awake Brain Surgery".
