Mood: Stumped --

when did photography turn into a trendy fad?

i hate seeing shots of random shit that doesnt even evoke emotion.. or anything... i hate seeing talentless people with expensive cameras calling themselves artists...

whenever i try to capture something through a lens, (which has been a very very very long time, i'm sad to say) i try to find something worth capturing... something that might change someone.. which usually consists of humans interacting..anyway... i wont even continue this rant, because some of my own photography is shit...

artists like Annie Lebowitz are the ones who keep me believing in true art... if you havent had a taste of what she's capable of, i insist you do so now.

Oh, no press pass. I snuck my camera in (I literally wore it under my shirt and used a large sweater for better coverage) and just got to shows super early to get in front... oh, but the best ones were taken from the 'press pass-only' section which I simply walked into... No one seemed to mind.

I said absolutely nothing about unprofessional photographers. I was refering to taste-less photography that does nothing for anyone. I'm the most unlearned photographer myself, but I try to convey emotion through my work and my life is enriched by what I do/try to do. I'm disapionted when I see "hipsters" buy cameras because of the new trend. It is suddenly cool to be artsy.

hey, i just have a simple comment on your journal,but i hope you dont mind me asking,i my self dont categorize my self as a photographer,but i do it just for fun,do you want unprofessional people such as my self, to quit posting my deviations here? i do agree with you though,but should i quit posting my work here just because its unprofessional?
